“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — you’re right."
-Henry FordI often ask female entrepreneurs if they can identify the biggest hurdle standing between them and what they're trying to achieve.
Want to know the answer I get most frequently? Self doubt.
The good thing is that it's an identified hurdle. It's much harder to get past something if you don't know what it is!
The bad thing is you've got to figure out a way over it, around it or through it if you want to reach your goals.
Self-belief is essential. Confidence in your abilities helps you set the bar high and believe in yourself enough to keep pushing forward, even when things are hard.
If you're struggling with self-doubt, the coolest thing is that you can reinvent yourself as you move forward. No one knows that you weren't the cool kid in high school... or that your parents got divorced when you were 7... or that you hate public speaking... and they don't have to know.
And you don't have to keep telling yourself those stories either. Forget about the fact that someone laughed at you during a presentation in 10th grade English... you can choose to stop relating to old insecurities because you're a capable, empowered, confident adult now, and you're ready to face challenges and problems and build a successful business.
Nobody is born successful. YOU create your success. Don’t let fear or past experiences dictate who you are or where you're going.
When you start to see yourself as someone who can succeed you will:
- give yourself freedom to make mistakes, because you're willing to learn from them.
- be able to see more opportunities and get creative with your solutions.
- be more open and willing to try new things, because that’s often what’s need to get different results.
Self-doubt is, of course, perfectly natural... but there are small mindset shifts you can make to keep your head in the right space 💛 want to learn more about how business coaching can help you move forward?
